Living with a diagnosis of Dementia creates many challenges and is an emotional time for you & your family. The decision to explore residential care for yourself or a loved one can be an overwhelming time. We at Sonas want to help you to navigate your way through this journey.  We hope to guide you through your concerns, & identify your needs.  We want to welcome you to our home, meet our teams & other residents, explore the activity provision and gather all the information you need to enable you to make your decision.

Dementia is the umbrella term used to describe a group of illnesses that effect a person’s cognition. The teams at Sonas Nursing Homes are highly trained & skilled to care for all types of Dementia.  Some of the types of Dementia we specialise in include;

Activity Provision

Cognitive stimulation activities are an important element of the care we deliver to our residents living with Dementia. We spend time getting to know our residents through life story work and reminiscence therapy.  Our experienced Activities Coordinators are skilled in developing and delivering person centred activities based on the person’s life experiences, likes & dislikes. Each home has a varied and comprehensive activity programme that includes; music, exercise, seasonal celebrations, cognitive stimulation, sensory & reminiscence therapy.

Dementia Care Training & Experience

At Sonas Nursing homes, our teams are highly skilled & experienced in delivering person centred dementia care.
