Our Story
Sonas Nursing Home was founded in 2001 with the opening of its inaugural Nursing Home in Cloverhill, just outside Roscommon. This first nursing home was the realisation of a vision shared by Sonas founders Seamus Crawley, John Mangan and Gerry Jordan . They brought two decades of experience to bear on the kind of environment they wanted to create for residents – one of community, continuity and contentment.
Today, our Sonas Senior Management team consists of Seamus Crawley, Chairman and Director of Facilities and Business Development; John Mangan, Director of Operations; Declan Feely, Director of Finance; Claire Welford, Quality & Governance Coordinator; Olivia Geraghty, Director of Human Resource, as well as our excellent care team. At Sonas, we firmly believe that passionate, caring and experienced staff is the key to achieving our mission. We pride ourselves on our high employee retention, resulting in familiarity and consistency for our residents.
Since the foundation of Sonas we have carefully developed our team around our six core values: Empathy, Advocacy, Warmth, Energy, Empowerment and Teamwork.
We treat each resident with respect, dignity, and compassion and value them as individuals. Sonas encourages active participation and engagement in life at our properties, ensuring residents feel comfortable, cared for, and above all, listened to.
Our Care Services
We provide care services to individuals seeking nursing home care. Our services have been developed specifically for individuals in need of respite, convalescence, dementia, palliative or long-term residential care, and include physiotherapy programmes and a full roster of engaging activities.
Residents at our nursing homes can avail of a range of on-site services, including hairdressing, chiropody, opticians and occupational therapy, among others. Additional services can be organised either in the home, or the resident can be accompanied to a location where the service is provided.
